XKCD is updating everyday this week. You know it’s awesome when Cory Doctorow appears.

In other news I have spent way too much money on a dress. In my defense it is awesome and now I have an excuse to date finanical people (aren’t they always going to functions?)

It’s true people. I have no face. Beck rocked it off.
I’m not posting photos because I didn’t take any. I was too busy rockin’. The only complaint I had was that the house lights were on for about 15 minutes. It was a little strange.
Beck played for about an hour and fifteen minutes straight. It was pretty sweet. If you haven’t seen a Beck show get off your duff and go.

This week is music week. Monday night I saw Death Cab for Cutie at Radio City Music Hall. I was in the 3rd mezzanine, but it was great. They played everything I wanted to hear (set list below) and I was home by midnight. Nice.

Last night I went to the Barack Rock at the Music Hall in Williamsburg. So much goodness. So many bands and they were divided with stand-up comics. I skipped the last two performances because I was tired and had promised to visit a bartender. My love started with Adira Amran. They did a cover of Poison by Bell Biv Devoe. Fantastic.

Then I learned what Russian punk rock sounds like thanks to Alina Simone. It’s sweet sounding, very sing along with words that say I hate life.

Then I was involved in an actual sing-along with Les Savy Fav. We got lyrics and everything.

I freaking loved Guster. I really hadn’t heard of them before, but I will definately be getting their new album and perhaps the one they have out now. Look how dedicated they are:

The Fiery Furnaces went on. I really liked the music, but the singer…eh. Look at her, she’s a parady.

And then. And then, FRANZ! Oh Franz, bestill my inner 15 year old. They did four songs like everyone else…and I loved it.

I left after Franz because tonight I’m off to see Beck. Franz is playing again at the Music Hall tonight, but I already have my Beck tickets and hey I did see them last night.

We got new umbrellas at work. Yes, this is the typical reaction.
