Yes I got 90% of them photographed.  The statues for the All Star Game that is!

Batter Up

July 28th, 2008 by Kansas

I’ve been doing “tourist” things as of late.  I went to both a Yankees game and a Mets game.  Of course I took photos of both stadiums.  It’s just weird to be someplace with a brand new stadium being built next door.  I’m glad I went to both games, and even more importantly the home teams won both days.

And I’m the bad roommate?

July 28th, 2008 by Kansas

I admit it.  I’m not the easiest person to live with.  I occasionally get plastered and bring home a houseboy who is scooted out the door by dawn.  Does this happen often?  Not really.  Once every couple of months usually on a Tuesday.  Does it wake up my roommates?  Probably.  But seeing how they are really heavy sleepers and not located on the same side of the apartment it really shouldn’t bother them.

Anyway…Steve locked himself out of the apartment on Friday.  I figured this out because when I got home the lights were on as was the television with his phone, keys, and general crap on the couch, but no sign of him.  I relaxed at dinner and enjoyed some television.  I ended up talking to my other roommate and found out that yes indeed he had locked himself out.  I said, well why doesn’t he buzz?  She passed it on–as no contact was made between him and I.

I then forgot about it and went to bed.  At 3:30am he shows up and buzzes.  And buzzes and buzzes.  I had decided to let the other roommate let him in as it was her he had contacted.  Well after 10 minutes it became apparent that she wasn’t going to hear the buzzer/let him in and damn-it this was keeping me awake.  So I got up and let him in with the comment of “Jackass!  It’s 3:30.”

Three hours later when his alarm went off and he didn’t turn it off and I was again awoken I was very unhappy.  I was so very annoyed that I went in and unplugged the offensive alarm.  Why is it that other people mess around and I get pooped on?  Screw them.  I’m going to NC.

My student loan interest finally dropped.  Now I’m rolling in it.

Restaurant Week Strikes Again

July 23rd, 2008 by Kansas

It’s restaurant week again here in NYC.  I’ve got reservations at a BBQ and a Russian place.  I bet you the Russian place is more fabulous than the BBQ.  I shall report back after tasting the fare.

Irked

I’m not real sure why I’m so bothered by the fact that Steve’s birthday is drawing near.  In fact I really hadn’t thought about it until last night when other roommate mentioned that Skanky Ho is organizing his party.  Did I mention that I hate Skanky Ho?  If I could I would pull the disappearing pencil trick with her head.  And really it isn’t even that I hate her, but rather I dislike Steve’s ability to not give a shit about anything, thus I want to take away things that make him comfortable.  Namely Skanky Ho.  Yes I am that bitter right now.  Will it go away?  Yes, in time.  Currently nope.

Drat. I double booked

July 23rd, 2008 by Kansas

Usually I’m much better about this.  Usually if I double book I have no intention of doing both things.  Tragically it is not the case this time.  I have a Jayhawk Happy Hour on the roof of the Met Museum and I said I’d go see Xdrop.  If somehow if magically works out that the Happy Hour is indeed only an hour I can make it to the show.  I have a feeling it isn’t.  And I want to do the whole Happy Hour.  I want to met some fellow Jayhawks.  I need fresh meat for the grinder!

I can also meet up with the Xdrop kids after their show.  Doh.

Screw You

I would like to think that I would notice this.

Bummer

July 16th, 2008 by Kansas

This morning I cracked one of my favorite glasses.  It isn’t a rare glass, but it is a bit difficult to find here in New York City.  Not a good way to start out the day.

Have a Seat

July 15th, 2008 by Kansas

As I was collecting more of the Parade of Statues today I passed an odd sight.

Office Chairs.  Lots and lots of office chairs just hanging out in the alley.  ‘Cause that’s where they belong.
