I’m busting out the ruby red slippers for my transport to Kansas tomorrow (and if they fail me I’ve got a back up flight landing at MCI) and should be there in time for happy hour.  Things are mostly packed here.  The house isn’t too much of a pit, but that’s okay.

Where did 2007 go?  Into a beer induced haze?

Went to the bar last night to give them a holiday card.  I helped the suits feel punk.  Roof and I talked music & books.  They had a keg of Blue Point that kicked and I ended up with the last of it.  Plus Bree pushing SoCo & Lime on me.  Good times.  I caught up on Lori’s exploits then headed to Dexy’s to deliver the holiday cheer.

At Dexy’s I ran into Jeff who is from Larryville.  We exchanged numbers so we can hit the Red Lyon next week when we are both home for the holidays.  Crazy man.

On Friday we got a delivery at the office.  It was a pack of six cupcakes.  Now the regular drill regarding cakes cup or not is to stomp on them and toss them out the window aiming for the giant “strike rat” below.  Well these cupcakes would not have that, nor would they be left for the wolverine that lives in our office.  (At first we thought it was a mouse, but I’m pretty sure it’s a wolverine.)  These cupcakes came home with me.

The six cupcakes from Crumbs are some of the most decadent cupcakes I’ve ever seen.  Jen and I split one because a eating a whole one is just ridiculous.  And yes, it turns out that they are cupcake crack.  I can hear them calling my name.  Try me, try me…I’m peanut butter cookie.  Try me, try me…I’m raspberry tart.  They must be kept under strict lock and key.

Well the roommate dinner is happening.  Tonight.  With I am Legend following-did you really think I would miss a vampire/zombie movie starring my favorite post-apocalyptic city?  Of course it also ties into work…but it’s a movie.  It’s a dick flick!

I’m giving Steve his present this evening. I made the perilousness journey to DUMBO Wednesday evening-I also picked up a very cute baby thing for Pinky.

I finally got around to posting the crappy photos I took of the parade.  Enjoy.

All of my holiday work parties are over.  Both of them took place the first week of December-now I’m just counting down to when I actually get on a jet plane.  My roommates parties have just begun though-which makes planning a dinner together a bit more challenging.

I’ll be in Kansas from the 24 to the 2nd of January.  I hope to see some peeps.

I know that eating cheese before bed will enhance your dreams, but who wants to dream of their high school reunion taking place in the elementary school gym where everyone accuses you of stealing the wine?  No me.  No sir.  I don’t even know why I had this dream.  I’m sure that Kasey Wilson and Tanay aren’t really waiting for me with sharpened pencils ready to dig out my eyes while the “popular” boys cheer them on.

In other news tonight is the holiday work party at Lotus. Hopefully I won’t get so shammered that I come up and insist that my roommate move out but still pay rent as he is annoying and should just quit that.
